This guesthouse is located in the Ocean Park neighborhood in Santa Monica, a short 15 min walk to the Ocean! 2 story, private & unique/stylish modern guesthouse that sits at the back of the property. The detached structure, with it's strikingly black facade, is mirrored by the 100+ year old Craftsman main house.
The guesthouse provides one bedroom with a queen sized bed (on the top floor), one full bathroom (shower only) on the main/bottom floor & a full kitchen (no dishwasher) within it's 680 square feet. The guesthouse opens up onto the property's garden, which serves as a sort of courtyard between the two homes. The garden & outside/backyard areas include a native California Sycamore tree, an orange tree, fig tree, as well as numerous wildflowers.

1) OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE:
* IMPORTANT LENGTH OF STAY NOTE:
As of March 1st, 2023, please be advised that the city of Santa Monica imposes a 17% Transient Occupancy Tax on any booking from a home sharing site (AirBnB & similar) of 30 days or less, as well as direct bookings of 30 days or less from any hosts direct booking site. Please consider booking for at least 31 days (even if you think you don't need that last day) or longer, to avoid that occupancy tax being imposed on your stay, and thus saving money overall.
** NOTABLE ARCHITECT/DEVELOPER:
One of his early projects, the guesthouse was designed by award-winning & major contemporary architect Lorcan O'Herlihy, of Lorcan O'Herlihy Architects. The works of O'Herlihy's architecture firm have won over 100 national & international design awards since its inception.
You can read more about the guesthouse, and the main house which the homeowners have owned since 1997, in an LA Times article titled, "Grandiose on a small scale", which was published back in 2006 after the completion of the guesthouse & partial remodel of the main home, as well. *** PARKING:
Parking spaces are uncovered & accessed by way of the alley, which provides quick & private access to the guest house once parked, as entrance into the property is accessed via the back gate.
**** PETS:
Pets (Dogs and/or Cats) may be considered on a case by case basis, dependent on factors such as size, breed, age, and personality, to name a few. Pets may be subject to an additional pet fee and/or pet security deposit, as well.
***** INFANTS/NEWBORNS/YOUNG CHILDREN:
If you are traveling with a newborn, infant, or any young child, and may need use of a high chair and/or a travel crib/pack & play during your stay, you must request those items to be provided in the house at least a few days in advance of your check-in date. If this is ignored, it's possible these items won't be available during your stay due to short notice. Again, it is a guest/guests responsibility to ask for these things in advance if they will be needed. Thank you.

2) GUEST ACCESS:
Keypad & house keys are used to access the property & guesthouse, respectively.

3) INTERACTION WITH GUESTS:
We like to give our guests space & privacy, but are available when needed via call or text! Please expect either longer periods between responses, or texts/calls back in the morning if you are in a situation where you need to reach out to us late at night. If we are awake during later/nighttime hours, we will do our best to respond back to you as soon as possible!
